Community well-being

The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts is not a government-run museum and must generate a large portion of its own operating budget. This amount has jumped from 24% to nearly 55% in a few years, which is quite exceptional in Canada. Supported by its many partners, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts Foundation raises funds through campaigns, events, and various projects to support the Museum’s primary mission: the enhancement, conservation, and presentation of its encyclopedic collection, the presentation of major exhibitions, and the creation of various educational, art therapy, social/community programs.
